Job Description

The Application Development Associate is responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting both new and existing software applications, including a Mobile app for child support. This role plays a key part in developing program modules and providing reliable production support for designated applications or systems. The associate collaborates closely with Application Architects, Business Analysts, and other team members to ensure technical solutions align with business goals and performance standards.

Job Duties

• Design, build, and test application programs, including new development and enhancements to existing modules.
• Provide production support, including issue analysis, bug fixes, testing, and deployment to production environments.
• Collaborate with Application Architects and Business Analysts to confirm and validate both functional and technical designs.
• Develop and maintain necessary technical documentation and participate in design reviews as scheduled.
• Analyze requirements, code, and test simple to moderately complex program modules, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications.
• Apply sound technical, industry, and domain knowledge to all tasks and project work.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in coding practices, system performance, and team processes.

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Java – Strong object-oriented programming skills and familiarity with Java-based enterprise application development.
• Experience with Spring Boot – creating RESTful APIs and using Spring Boot for building scalable and maintainable applications.
• Proficient in Angular – developing responsive, single-page web applications using Angular.
• Ability to write efficient SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting; experience with relational database systems.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and version control systems like Git.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance tuning.
• Experience supporting Child Support applications, programs, or initiatives.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s Degree.

Location

• Open to candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area or those willing to relocate from DAY ONE at their OWN EXPENSE. Candidates MUST meet all the requirements listed from the beginning.
• Position is a hybrid schedule with NO remote-only option. Wednesdays and Thursdays are REQUIRED on-site days (cannot be modified).
• Working hours Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to offer sponsorships at this time.
• Must undergo a background check and drug screening for employment.

Employment Terms

• This is a W2 position.
• 40 hrs per week.
• HYBRID schedule - NO remote-only option. Wednesdays and Thursdays are REQUIRED on-site days (cannot be modified).
