Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, enhance, and support complex software applications in a hybrid work environment located in Coppell, Texas. The ideal candidate should be excited about a career that allows for personal growth and contribution while earning above market rates. This position is a contract to hire role focused primarily in the mortgage industry.

Requirements

The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience and a strong hands-on background in software development. Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and supporting one or more applications.
• Working closely with Business Systems Managers and Business Analysts to plan and deliver software changes.
• Ensuring that development activities and deliverables remain on schedule.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to assess requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Participating in project estimation and planning activities.
• Developing high-quality source code and maintaining technical documentation.
• Following software management processes and performing unit testing.
• Troubleshooting defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Participating in deployment planning and production implementation.
• Providing production support for high-severity application issues.
• Chairing and facilitating Agile team meetings.
• Providing technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
