Job Description

Halogen Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience and a TS/SCI with Poly clearance. The candidate will develop and maintain system management infrastructure software and services for High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on documented requirements. Systems may involve processing intensive analytics, algorithm development, large data set manipulation, and real-time systems. The engineer will also resolve software problem reports and utilize appropriate software development methodologies.

Requirements

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes.
• Recent software development experience using Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Experience with Git Source Control System.

Desired Skills

• Experience with automation frameworks, such as Ansible.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or PodMan.
• Experience with Secret Management tools including HashiCorp Vault.
• Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak.
• Familiarity with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, e.g., Netbox.
• Familiarity with Observability and Analytics platform solutions like Splunk.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• OR Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Location and Security Clearance

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI required; Polygraph is required (must be less than seven years old).

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $212K to $225K (annualized USD). Salary determined by various factors including location, education, skills, and experience.
