Job Description

The Evergreen Movement is seeking a Web Designer to assist in launching its primary website. Currently, the website is in a simple “coming soon” format, and the goal is to create a professional, fully functional online presence that reflects the organization’s mission in environmental education, policy advocacy, and community organizing.

Requirements

• Experience with web design (portfolio or examples required)
• Proficiency with a website builder (Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, or similar)
• Comfortable working remotely and independently
• Interest in environmental or social justice issues
• Bonus: familiarity with nonprofit websites or donation platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and build the primary website (evergreenmovement.org)
• Create a clean, modern, mobile-responsive layout
• Build pages for: About, The People’s Compact, Curriculum, Get Involved, Donate
• Set up a donation button (we’re 501©(3) approved — donors can give tax-deductible gifts)
• Integrate a volunteer sign-up form
• Ensure accessibility and fast load times
• Work with the Community Engagement volunteer on branding and visual identity

Additional Information

Time Commitment: 5–10 hours/week, flexible

Location: Fully remote

Compensation: This is a volunteer role. The organization is pursuing microgrants to offer a stipend for this position, which will be discussed with the selected candidate.
