Job Description

St. Thomas More Catholic Church welcomes applications for a staff singer position in the soprano voice part. The singer will serve individually as a section leader for the parish choir (4 singers per Mass) and sing in an 8-voice schola cantorum for Masses throughout the year. The position begins October 28, 2026 following the departure of a current singer. The 2026-2027 choral season runs through June 20, 2027.

The well-established staff singer position seeks to support a thriving choral program. Scheduling is meant to be flexible to the gigging musician, but successful applicants will be asked to make a prioritized commitment to St. Thomas More liturgies during the Christmas and Easter/Triduum holidays. Singers can expect up to 75 calls during the season and are paid $75 per call.

Requirements

The successful applicant will demonstrate skilled singing and musical ability within a choral and collaborative setting. Independent study and preparation are required. A keen sense of pastoral care to the volunteer musicians and the community at large is also needed. Higher education in music is a benefit but not compulsory.
