Job Description

This is a paid freelance and remote position at ScreenRant, the #1 entertainment website that publishes breaking news and exclusives on movies, TV shows, comic books, and more. We are searching for experienced and passionate contributors to create original high-quality content in a timely manner.

Requirements

As a candidate, you will be responsible for the following:

Search Growth & Performance

• Own growth in total search clicks and clicks per article.
• Build and maintain the keyword and topic roadmap.
• Identify underperforming URLs and convert analysis into actionable work for editorial.
• Monitor user engagement metrics and respond to ranking changes.
• Balance evergreen and timely coverage.
• Improve on-page and template-level SEO.

AI Overviews (AIO) Evaluation & Maximization

• Evaluate brand presence across AI Overviews.
• Identify effective query types for editorial guidance.
• Maximize inclusion through content structure.
• Track click and traffic impact of AIO.
• Stay ahead of AI search developments and advise leadership.

Evergreen Content, Refresh & Republishing

• Develop a strong evergreen playbook and drive its adoption.
• Grow and defend the evergreen content base.
• Identify evergreen opportunities through analysis.
• Define standards for evergreen content.
• Maintain a prioritized republishing pipeline.
• Manage the content lifecycle effectively.

Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor KPIs and provide actionable reporting.
• Ensure tracking accuracy across tools.
• Run structured tests on search levers.

AI & Automation

• Identify repetitive SEO workflows for automation.
• Collaborate with data scientists on AI tooling.
• Define problems and validate outputs before rollout.

Authority & Ecosystem Growth

• Contribute to growing topical authority.
• Support the transition to a multi-product presence.
• Contribute to new content ventures.

Collaboration & Enablement

• Work cross-functionally with various teams.
• Upskill writers and editors on best practices.
• Foster a culture of accountability and performance.
