Job Description

Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data team as our first dedicated Data Engineering hire. This role involves building and evolving the data platform that powers analytics, AI, internal tooling, and operational workflows. You will work closely with the Director of Analytics to set the technical direction for Data and ensure high-quality data is available throughout the organization.

Requirements

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Software Engineering with a data focus, or a related technical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in writing production-quality code and building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with modern data tooling, including Airflow and/or dbt, and a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience building data pipelines and integrations across APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and warehouse design.

Skills:

• Experience using coding agents and AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast-moving environment.
• A relentless drive to get things done.
• Flexible and quick learner of new processes and technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to partner and influence at different levels.

Nice to Have:

• Experience as an early data hire or building significant parts of a data platform from the ground up.
• Deep production experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Looker, and/or Hex.
• Experience building AI/LLM data infrastructure, internal APIs, or backend services.
• Experience with business analytics in various domains like marketing, finance, or operations.

Compensation & Work Authorization

The base salary range for this position is $160,000-$180,000 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
