Job Description

WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News is seeking an experienced Digital Content Producer to create, edit, and produce news content for digital, social, and connected TV platforms.

The role operates in a fast-paced, breaking-news environment and involves producing compelling, shareable content while helping expand the station’s digital reach and audience engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Produce digital news stories with engaging, accurate, and search-optimized headlines and copy.
• Manage breaking news and other content for abc7ny.com.
• Create original video, social media, and multiplatform content.
• Assist with livestreamed events and direct live news coverage.
• Optimize content to increase reach, page views, and unique visitors through SEO.
• Use audience insights to support editorial and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with newsroom leaders and content creators to coordinate coverage across platforms.
• Support the station’s social media presence and audience engagement efforts.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in digital news and multiplatform production.
• Strong understanding of social media strategy, SEO, and emerging platforms.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure in a high-energy newsroom.
• Experience with nonlinear editing.
• Strong video production skills, including experience with tools such as Adobe Premiere.
• Proficiency in AP style.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and breaking-news shifts as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree required; journalism, television, production, or a related field preferred.

Employment Details

This is an as-needed position. Employees work on a daily basis without a guaranteed regular schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate for this New York-based role is $40.00 to $50.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
