Job Description
We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer to troubleshoot, build, deliver and protect complex CMS and e-commerce solutions while supporting clients and mentoring junior engineers.
Troubleshoot and Build
- Debug complex full-stack issues, including undocumented legacy code, and resolve root causes.
- Build and maintain custom plugins, themes and modules for platforms such as AEM, WordPress, Shopify, Magento and Drupal.
- Design, build and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, payment gateways, CRMs and OAuth authentication.
- Improve website performance through Lighthouse audits, browser caching, CDN configuration and database query optimisation.
Deliver and Protect
- Manage and prioritise client support tickets according to business impact, severity and contractual SLAs.
- Deliver hotfixes and scheduled releases through Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Own critical incidents from diagnosis through resolution, communication and post-incident documentation.
- Apply security and compliance best practices, including OWASP Top 10, SSL certificate management, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
Mentor and Communicate
- Conduct constructive code reviews and mentor junior software engineers.
- Translate unclear client requirements into well-defined, actionable technical tasks.
- Explain incidents, outages and technical architecture clearly to account managers and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience, including client-facing service or support work.
- Proficiency in one or more of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, PHP or Java.
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework, such as React, Vue or Angular.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including query tuning.
- Deep hands-on experience with at least one CMS or e-commerce platform: AEM, WordPress, Shopify, Magento or Drupal.
- Experience developing custom plugins, themes or modules.
- Knowledge of REST and GraphQL APIs, payment gateways, CRM integrations and OAuth.
- Experience with website performance optimisation, Lighthouse, caching strategies and CDNs such as Cloudflare or AWS CloudFront.
- Strong Git and CI/CD experience, including Jenkins or GitHub Actions, with knowledge of zero-downtime deployments.
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10, SSL management, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
- Clear, calm communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- An ownership mindset, with the ability to follow issues through to resolution.
- Resilience and sound judgement during live incidents.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting enterprise or multi-region clients under formal SLAs.
- Exposure to multiple CMS or e-commerce platforms.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.
