Job Description

The Lead ETL Developer will design, develop, test, and deploy data ingestion and migration pipelines that process historical and real-time data from diverse sources, including flat files and relational databases.

The role involves transforming and standardizing data into enterprise data models and loading it efficiently into data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical databases. The developer will ensure transactional and analytical data models support data quality, reliability, performance, downstream applications, and business intelligence solutions.

The Lead ETL Developer will lead and mentor a team of four or more ETL developers, establish development standards, and promote consistent, scalable, and maintainable engineering practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead ETL and data ingestion development for migration from Google Cloud Platform BigQuery to SQL-based data warehouse environments.
• Architect and implement pipelines using modern ETL tools and cloud-native data processing frameworks.
• Train and mentor ETL developers on coding standards, best practices, and data model design.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to validate data requirements and support reporting and analytical needs.
• Develop testing strategies to verify data integrity, completeness, and accuracy.
• Optimize data pipelines for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Validate transactional and analytical data models to ensure they contain the required elements for downstream systems and BI solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and project communications for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of hands-on ETL development experience.
• Expertise with modern ETL and reporting or business intelligence tools.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data models and ETL pipeline design best practices.
• Proven experience serving as a technical lead for teams of four or more developers.
• Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Dataform.
• Demonstrated experience with BigQuery.
• Demonstrated experience with Medallion Architecture.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
