Job Description
Checkr is seeking a Lead Brand Designer, Web, to shape the Checkr brand across all marketing surfaces. The role will partner closely with Marketing and Revenue, own web brand standards, and ensure design decisions reflect customer needs and business goals.
The successful candidate will:
- Design polished, brand-led web experiences across marketing touchpoints.
- Own and evolve web brand standards, guidelines, and design systems.
- Scope initiatives and prioritise work across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Revenue to maintain consistent web experiences.
- Provide creative direction and feedback to designers and external creatives.
- Present and advocate for design decisions to colleagues and senior leadership.
- Plan and conduct ongoing user testing to improve the web experience.
- Use customer personas and end-to-end user journeys to inform design decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of in-house or agency design experience, preferably with technology or B2B brands.
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating expertise in typography, layout, storytelling, and art direction.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve design production workflows.
- Strong knowledge of information architecture, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices.
- A systems-oriented approach to creating reusable templates and assets.
- Experience developing brand standards and managing contractor or freelance creative work.
- Strong presentation, communication, and creative advocacy skills, including the ability to defend work to senior leaders.
- Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced, iterative environments with evolving or ambiguous briefs.
- A proactive, resilient, ownership-driven approach with a strong bias for action and high standards of craft.
Desirable Experience
- Front-end knowledge, including HTML and CSS, with the ability to prototype or quality-check work in a browser.
- Experience in illustration, photography, or art direction.
- Experience in HR technology, trust and safety, or identity verification products.
- Experience mentoring or providing creative direction to other designers.

Work Location
Checkr operates from hubs in Denver, Colorado; San Francisco, California; Nashville, Tennessee; and Santiago, Chile. Employees are expected to work from the office at least three days per week. Office benefits include lunch five days per week, a commuter stipend, and snacks and beverages. Relocation support may be available for candidates willing to move to a Checkr hub location.
