Job Description

ARL is a creative studio working across brand strategy, identity, websites, and campaigns. The studio is seeking a freelance web developer for project-based collaboration.

The role involves translating brand and design direction into polished, responsive websites and working closely with ARL throughout development, feedback, launch preparation, and handover.

Responsibilities include:

• Building websites from agreed design and content direction
• Developing layouts, interactions, and content-management functionality
• Implementing project-specific integrations
• Testing websites across devices and browsers
• Considering accessibility, performance, and usability throughout development
• Communicating clearly during feedback, launch, and handover stages

Requirements

• Experience developing responsive, high-quality websites
• Strong attention to design detail
• Ability to make thoughtful technical decisions
• Clear and consistent communication throughout projects
• Experience with relevant platforms and technologies; applicants should specify the tools and stacks they use
• A relevant portfolio demonstrating previous web development work

Portfolio and Application

A portfolio is required. Applications without a relevant portfolio will not be considered.

• Relevant live websites or case studies
• A short introduction
• The types of projects you typically work on
• Your personal contribution to each selected project
• The technologies or platforms used
• Details of work completed by other collaborators

Portfolio Screening Questions

1. Share your relevant portfolio link and identify the example that best represents your work.
2. For that example, explain what you personally created or delivered and what was handled by other collaborators.
3. State which platform or technology stack you used and describe the technical or design challenge you solved.

Engagement: Freelance, project-based collaboration

Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour
