Job Description

Continental Finance Company is seeking a Junior Applications Developer to support the Liberty Career Finance team. Liberty Career Finance provides loans to vocational schools in transportation and other short-term training programs.

The Junior Applications Developer will work as part of an Agile development team responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting enterprise software systems in the financial services and retail installment lending space. The role involves collaborating with team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs and provide value.

Essential Functions

• Design, code, test, debug, and support web and WinForms applications using Microsoft technologies, including .NET, C#, and SQL Server, as well as front-end frameworks such as React.js.
• Analyze business processes and requirements to design effective product solutions.
• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
• Develop, refine, and optimize integrations between applications.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application issues.
• Support and maintain production applications and systems.
• Learn and apply new technologies across a variety of projects.
• Research and evaluate software products to support business needs and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly retail installment lending, is preferred.
• Knowledge of C# and/or other .NET programming languages.
• Knowledge of front-end development frameworks such as React.js.
• Knowledge of web service concepts, including REST, JSON, and XML.
• Knowledge of SQL Server technologies and experience developing database applications using SQL Server.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Experience with serverless technologies in AWS is a plus.

Additional Information

Schedule and Employment Type

This is a temporary, part-time position with a flexible schedule on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The role is fully in office.
