Job Description

Seeking an Intermediate Software Developer for a long-term, onsite contract role in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will design, develop, support, and maintain large-scale, multi-client web applications using Java, Oracle, SQL, REST APIs, and related technologies.

The role involves participating in application design and development, conducting design walkthroughs, reviewing and modifying installation scripts, supporting implementations, resolving technical issues, and preparing user and system documentation. The developer will also contribute to technical quality assurance and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience with Oracle or SQL databases.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with REST APIs and RESTful web services.
• Experience using Azure DevOps.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience developing Internet-ready applications.
• Knowledge of rapid application development methodologies.
• Understanding of information management principles, policies, concepts, and practices.
• Experience with middleware and gateways.
• Experience reviewing, analyzing, modifying, encoding, testing, and debugging product installation scripts.
• Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
• Experience conducting design walkthroughs with project teams.
• Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), related regulations, and accessibility standards.
• Ability to prepare user and system documentation.

Oracle Software Development Qualifications

• Experience conducting impact assessments for Oracle E-Business application customizations and extensions.
• Strong conversion experience with Accounts Receivable and Collections modules.
• Strong programming skills in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripting, and Oracle Data Integrator.
• Business knowledge of Oracle E-Business General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable, and Inventory modules.
• Strong understanding of Oracle E-Business table structures related to GL, AR, Collections, AP, INV, and FND.
• Strong knowledge of SQL tuning and partitioned tables.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL methodologies, and OBIEE.
• Experience with Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership abilities and the capacity to oversee project quality assurance from a technical perspective.
