Job Description
We are seeking an Audio Integration Active Sound Engineer (AIAS) to support the development, integration, validation, troubleshooting, and production launch of audio and active sound systems across multiple vehicle programs.
The role partners with internal engineering teams, Vehicle Function teams, Core Functional Technical Specification writers, and suppliers throughout the vehicle product lifecycle. Responsibilities include system and component-level development, requirements and specification management, technical reviews, validation, issue resolution, production readiness, and ongoing quality support.
- Lead audio and active sound system development, integration, and validation at the vehicle, system, and component levels.
- Plan, design, develop, test, and troubleshoot systems in collaboration with engineering teams and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain AIAS requirements and system-level specification documentation.
- Assess vehicle program series cards and product grids to identify system impacts, optimization opportunities, and complexity reduction initiatives.
- Provide input on system cost, development timing, program milestones, and production readiness.
- Support serial-life activities, quality initiatives, technical reviews, and cross-functional issue resolution.
Requirements
- Automotive industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive audio systems and audio modules.
- Experience with audio system development, integration, testing, and validation.
- Experience troubleshooting system-level and component-level integration issues.
- Understanding of system requirements and technical specifications, including related requirements documentation.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, Vehicle Function teams, and suppliers.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
