Job Description

The Farm Collaborative is seeking a creative, hands-on Freelance Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist to promote its farm store, events, programs, and mission.

The role will involve visiting the farm to capture photos and videos, creating social media and marketing content, managing Instagram, coordinating email and text campaigns, updating the website, promoting events, and maintaining organized content and marketing calendars.

• Capture and produce photos, videos, Reels, Stories, captions, emails, text messages, and website updates.
• Manage Instagram content creation, scheduling, publishing, engagement, profile information, links, and Highlights.
• Develop and implement digital marketing efforts to attract customers, increase store visits and purchases, and encourage repeat engagement.
• Promote farm products, seasonal offerings, deliveries, store updates, events, programs, and registration deadlines.
• Build email and opt-in text subscriber lists and establish regular customer communications.
• Keep website, product, event, and store information accurate and current.
• Coordinate content and communications across social media, email, text, and web channels.
• Maintain shared marketing and content calendars and proactively gather missing information.
• Verify dates, hours, availability, and links before publishing.
• Provide weekly updates on completed work, upcoming priorities, and hours used.
• Review basic performance results and use insights to improve future communications.

Requirements

• Experience managing social media and customer communications for a business or organization.
• Strong creative skills, fresh ideas, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
• Portfolio demonstrating photography, short-form video, social media, and written communications.
• Strong understanding of Instagram and current, authentic, audience-focused content.
• Proficiency with CapCut or comparable video editing software and Canva.
• Experience with email marketing, opt-in text campaigns, and basic website content management.
• Ability to turn audience interest into store visits, purchases, registrations, and repeat engagement.
• Ability to recommend an approach, organize work, and execute independently.
• Availability for regular on-site content capture in Aspen and selected event coverage.
• Ability to photograph community members and children responsibly while following consent practices.
• Experience with food, farming, retail, hospitality, community organizations, or nonprofits is preferred but not required.

Engagement Details

• Position: Freelance Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist
• Organization: The Farm Collaborative
• Location: Hybrid remote in Aspen, Colorado 81611
• Engagement type: Hourly independent contractor or monthly retainer, to be determined
• Preferred start date: Early October 2026
• Initial engagement: Through December 31, 2026
• Pilot period: October through December 2026
• Hours: Based on an agreed monthly hours budget; additional hours require advance approval
• On-site work: Regular farm visits and selected event coverage included in the agreed scope
• The engagement will be reviewed in December to determine whether to continue.
