Job Description

Musicians perform as soloists or members of musical groups, such as pit orchestras and bands, under the direction of the Stage Manager and Musical Director. They help deliver a high-quality musical and entertainment experience for park guests.

• Play one or more musical instruments as part of performances.
• Study, rehearse, and interpret musical scores.
• Perform from memory or while reading sheet music.
• Transpose music into alternate keys as needed.
• Improvise, compose, or arrange music when required.
• Accompany soloists and other musicians.
• Support a friendly, professional, guest-focused environment.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Formal musical training through private study, college, or university.
• At least three years of experience performing in an organized ensemble, such as a combo, band, or orchestra.
• Supervisory experience or skills preferred.
• Previous performance experience in a theme park, orchestra, school, or similar setting preferred.

• Availability for assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended shifts.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to non-toxic chemicals, such as special effects.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

• Occasional to frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with shifts lasting up to 13 hours.
• Ability to travel across the property, including areas with stairs, uneven surfaces, and changing terrain.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements using the hands, arms, and other body parts.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, attention-to-detail, and information-processing skills.
