Job Description

Savo is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build and scale its human intelligence platform. The role involves working across React and TypeScript on the frontend, FastAPI and PostgreSQL on the backend, real-time voice systems built with LiveKit, and AWS infrastructure.

This is a hands-on, build-and-learn position. You will contribute to the production codebase from the beginning, shipping features, fixing bugs, developing customer solutions, and working closely with senior engineers through code reviews and mentorship.

You will also contribute to AI-powered systems by developing evaluations, tracing model behavior, refining prompts and structured outputs, and improving the reliability of multi-agent systems. Over time, the role may expand into NLP, measurement models, data science, and other areas that turn conversation data into trustworthy, evidence-backed insights.

• Build and ship features across frontend and backend repositories.
• Develop APIs, implement database changes, and contribute to larger technical designs.
• Build and improve customer-facing solutions, including interviews, participant conversations, and results delivery.
• Understand customer needs and help translate them into effective platform solutions.
• Write tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain code quality.
• Debug issues across the technology stack and manage them through to resolution.
• Work with Docker-based local development, Git workflows, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Grow into greater ownership and explore AI engineering, measurement, and data science alongside the team.

Requirements

• One to five years of professional software engineering experience; strong internship or co-op experience may qualify.
• A degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with an interest in learning the wider stack.
• Exposure to both frontend development, such as React, and backend or web framework development.
• Familiarity with relational databases and Git.
• A bias toward shipping practical solutions and iterating quickly.
• Experience using AI coding tools across CLI, IDE, and autonomous-agent workflows, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools.
• Interest in AI engineering, including LLM systems, evaluations, prompting, structured outputs, model behavior, or agent workflows.
• Ability to work collaboratively, learn quickly, and take ownership in an evolving environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, or AWS.
• Exposure to real-time systems, voice technology, or LLM-powered applications.
• Interest in NLP, psychometrics, measurement, or data science.
• Interest in developing MLOps and LLMOps practices.

Additional Information

Location and Travel

This role is based in Austin, Texas, with approximately 5–10% travel for customer visits.
