Job Description

MPOWER YOGA is seeking a freelance Marketing & Content Lead to support the launch of its premium power yoga studio in Menlo Park, opening in spring 2027. Working directly with the founder and CEO, the role will lead marketing strategy and day-to-day content execution across social media, email, the website, and physical marketing materials.

The successful candidate will help establish MPOWER’s brand presence, grow its pre-opening community, and promote key initiatives, including the studio’s 200-hour Power Yoga Teacher Training beginning January 29, 2027.

• Develop marketing strategies, campaigns, creative concepts, and content formats aligned with MPOWER’s brand and launch goals.
• Own the content calendar and publish approximately 2–4 in-feed posts and weekly Stories, with a balanced mix of static and video content.
• Capture and produce photography, reels, and short-form video during on-location shoots 1–3 times per month.
• Write captions, emails, student spotlights, and campaign copy in MPOWER’s brand voice.
• Design and maintain social templates, posters, banners, event assets, and other marketing materials.
• Manage community engagement by responding to comments and direct messages and connecting with relevant local audiences.
• Support paid advertising after opening, including channel and audience recommendations, campaign setup, creative development, optimization, and performance reporting.
• Recommend and coordinate external contractors and vendors, including quotes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide monthly reporting on reach, saves, follower growth, link clicks, leads, and other key performance indicators.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual judgment, premium content, and an engaging brand presence.
• Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, beauty, or another premium consumer category is advantageous.
• Strong creative instincts and an understanding of content that attracts attention, builds brand interest, and generates qualified leads.
• Proficiency in photography, short-form video editing, design, and copywriting.
• Comfort working both behind and in front of the camera.
• Ability to understand, maintain, and consistently express an established brand voice.
• Fast, reliable turnaround and the ability to maintain a consistent publishing schedule during time-sensitive launches.
• Working knowledge of organic and paid marketing, analytics, and lead generation.
• Availability for on-location content capture in Menlo Park.
• Own equipment and software required to produce and edit content.

Engagement and Compensation

This is a freelance contractor position with a monthly retainer. The initial engagement is six months, with a review after three months and the option to extend for up to one year, followed by potential annual renewals.

Compensation is approximately $2,000–$2,500 per month, with the initial retainer set at $2,500 for an estimated 25 hours per month, depending on experience and agreed scope. Additional pre-opening hours may be required and will be compensated separately. Advertising spend is separate from the retainer.
