Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, modify, implement, test, and maintain software systems and applications. The engineer will work independently or as part of a team, lead technical software system design, and lead software integration testing.

Key responsibilities include supporting software installation, participating in test reviews and certification, developing software documentation, and collaborating with systems engineering and software leadership to validate system requirements and derive software requirements from system and subsystem requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 11 years of experience in software development and maintenance, including requirements analysis, object-oriented software design, coding, testing, documentation, configuration management, user training, deployment, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Documented formal training in the Software Engineering Institute’s CMMI-DEV model, or documented experience working on projects that applied portions of the model.
  • Documented formal training in Department of Defense standards for software testing and documentation, or documented experience applying these standards.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with malware analysis and mitigation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating system internals and APIs.
  • Knowledge of shellcode analysis, packed or obfuscated code, and related algorithms.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
  • Experience conducting host and network analysis to identify platform anomalies and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience documenting technical findings in reports and briefings.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CREA, GPEN, GREM, OSCP, or OSCE.
  • Experience with x86/x64 assembly, C or C++, software reverse engineering, kernel debugging, or protocol stacks.
  • Experience developing computer exploits.
  • Software reverse-engineering experience using tools such as IDA Pro, GDB, WinDbg, Immunity Debugger, OllyDbg, or equivalent tools.

Compensation

The projected annual compensation range is $233,000–$246,000. Compensation may vary based on location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements.
