Job Description
Checkr is seeking a Lead Brand Designer, Web, to shape the Checkr brand across marketing surfaces and web experiences. The role partners closely with Marketing and Revenue to ensure customer-focused, business-driven, and consistent brand expression across all web touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Design polished, brand-forward web experiences grounded in customer needs and business outcomes.
- Own and evolve web brand standards, guidelines, templates, and design systems.
- Scope initiatives and prioritize work across multiple projects and timelines.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue, and other teams to maintain brand consistency.
- Provide creative direction and feedback to designers and external creative partners.
- Present and advocate for design decisions to colleagues and senior leadership.
- Identify user needs, develop hypotheses, and conduct ongoing user testing to improve web experiences.
- Use customer personas and end-to-end user journeys to inform design decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of in-house or agency design experience, preferably with technology or B2B brands.
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, storytelling, and art direction skills.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience using AI-assisted design tools.
- Strong knowledge of information architecture, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices.
- A systems-oriented approach to creating reusable templates and assets.
- Experience developing brand standards and managing or directing freelance and contract creative work.
- Strong presentation, communication, and design advocacy skills, including the ability to engage senior leadership.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced, iterative environments.
- A proactive, resilient, ownership-oriented approach with a strong bias for action and high creative standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Front-end knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to prototype or quality-check work in a browser.
- Experience in illustration, photography, or art direction.
- Experience working in HR technology, trust and safety, or identity verification.
- Experience mentoring designers or providing creative direction.

Work Arrangement
Checkr promotes an in-office work environment to support collaboration, innovation, and connection. Employees are expected to work from a Checkr hub at least three days per week. Hub locations include Denver, Colorado; San Francisco, California; Nashville, Tennessee; and Santiago, Chile.
In-office benefits include lunch five days per week, a commuter stipend, and snacks and beverages. Relocation assistance may be available for employees moving to a Checkr hub location.
