Job Description

K2 is seeking a Freelance Senior Architectural & Experiential Designer to join its New York team and deliver luxury brand experiences across the U.S. The role will lead multiple event and production design projects from concept through execution, working closely with the Head of Design and K2’s design and production teams.

The successful candidate will combine creative vision with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to develop elevated spatial experiences and bring design concepts to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and adapt luxury brand experiences for new locations.
• Collaborate with the Head of Design, production teams, clients, vendors, freelancers, and fabricators.
• Create sophisticated spatial designs for luxury clients and brands.
• Produce renderings, visuals, and client-facing presentation decks.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, material sourcing, and design quality control.
• Apply technical design and drafting expertise, including knowledge of fabrication methods and materials.
• Produce construction drawing packages for fabrication.
• Manage multiple projects and meet demanding timelines.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in interior design, production design, architecture, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong passion for design, culture, and art, with a broad and well-rounded design perspective.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, initiative, and teamwork.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, realistic rendering, and design software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Enscape, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Technical understanding of architectural design, fabrication techniques, and construction documentation.
