Job Description
We are seeking a software developer to help update an existing Android application built in Java so that it matches the look, functionality, and user experience of our iOS application developed with SwiftUI.
The application combines payment processing functionality with an active directory supporting approximately 3,000 business clients. The successful candidate will also contribute to the continued development and maintenance of internal software for a leader in the private currency technology industry.
This role is suitable for a developer with foundational software development and database skills who is interested in strengthening their expertise while advancing current projects. Experience using Claude 4.5 or similar AI-powered coding tools is valued.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Must be located in Michigan and able to work on-site when required.
- Proficiency with legacy software and systems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
- Experience with C# and VB.NET.
- Application development experience.
- Experience using software repositories and version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of computer hardware.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Claude 4.5 or similar AI coding tools.
- Experience with queuing systems such as RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with NuGet packages and package creation.
- Experience with SSRS or Crystal Reports.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Basic computer troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience developing iOS and Android applications.
Work Arrangement
The projects are expected to begin within one month. The role is based in Southeast Michigan and may require on-site work. The anticipated schedule is two days per week, with flexible compensation of approximately $50 per hour.
