Job Description
Dream Three is seeking a freelance Website Developer to build, maintain, and improve responsive websites for its brands. The role involves translating approved designs and creative direction into polished, maintainable websites, structuring content for efficient updates, and managing projects through testing, launch, and handoff.
The successful candidate will combine strong visual attention to detail with practical technical judgment, reliable delivery, and clear communication. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role working with a designated company lead and creative collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
- Build responsive pages, reusable components, CMS structures, and approved interactions.
- Implement designs accurately across agreed devices and browsers.
- Test functionality, accessibility requirements, performance, forms, integrations, and key user journeys.
- Investigate and resolve defects and maintain assigned websites within agreed support coverage.
- Recommend suitable implementation approaches and define milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate reviews, launches, and migrations.
- Document content-editing processes, integrations, implementation details, and handoff steps.
- Communicate progress, blockers, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
- Pages and features launch on time while preserving the approved design.
- Websites are thoroughly tested and technical issues are prioritized appropriately.
- Stakeholders have clear visibility into completed, blocked, and pending work.
- Sites are structured for efficient routine content updates with minimal developer support.
- Implementations are maintainable and understandable to other developers.
Requirements
- At least three years of relevant website-development experience, or equivalent demonstrated work.
- A portfolio or examples of live websites personally implemented, with a clear explanation of your contribution.
- Strong hands-on experience with Webflow or Wix Studio.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with CMS architecture, responsive design, website testing, and ongoing site improvements.
- Ability to work from approved creative direction and translate detailed designs into maintainable websites.
- Strong ownership, organization, communication, estimation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage milestones, identify risks, and flag tradeoffs before deadlines are affected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering websites for multiple brands.
- Experience with e-commerce, membership platforms, or third-party integrations.
- Knowledge of technical SEO, redirects, analytics implementation, or accessible interface development.
- Experience collaborating closely with designers and creative teams.
Additional Information
Tools and Platforms
Webflow and/or Wix Studio, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git where custom code requires it. Additional tools may include Figma or equivalent design references, Asana, Slack, Dropbox, and other approved collaboration tools. The platform, hosting, and integrations used will be approved for each assignment.
Engagement Details
- Contract: Nonexclusive freelance engagement beginning with one brand and agreed deliverables, milestones, and collaboration windows.
- Location: New York City or Los Angeles, with remote or agreed hybrid work arrangements within those locations.
- Fees: US$60–$90 per hour for paid discovery, scoping, and authorized hourly support. Defined builds are agreed separately as fixed-fee engagements.
- Scope: Deliverables, milestones, payment dates, revisions, and approved third-party costs will be documented before work begins. Scope changes require prior agreement.
- Start date: As soon as mutually agreed.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally able to provide the agreed services from their work location.
