Job Description

Solu is seeking a QA Lead to manage and govern end-to-end testing for enterprise applications, integrations, and production-readiness efforts. The role will connect business requirements with technical validation, lead testing teams, maintain requirements traceability, and provide clear, evidence-based release-readiness reporting.

The QA Lead will:

• Develop test strategies, scopes, schedules, estimates, dependencies, entry and exit criteria, and execution plans.
• Assign and supervise testing activities, review test deliverables, mentor testers, and enforce QA standards.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, DevOps, DBAs, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze BRDs, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, interface specifications, data mappings, and API specifications.
• Identify incomplete, ambiguous, conflicting, or untestable requirements.
• Translate requirements into test scenarios, test cases, test data, preconditions, expected results, and automation opportunities.
• Maintain complete traceability between requirements, tests, executions, and defects.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps Test Plans, Test Suites, test cases, configurations, test runs, evidence, and defect links.
• Use Azure DevOps queries and dashboards to report progress, blockers, defects, coverage, and release readiness.
• Design and review positive, negative, boundary, equivalence partitioning, decision table, state transition, authorization, data-driven, and risk-based tests.
• Coordinate and participate in smoke, functional, API, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, UAT, performance-support, database, and data pipeline testing.
• Ensure test failures are reproducible and supported by complete, defensible evidence.
• Lead or support defect triage, severity and priority decisions, retesting, and closure.
• Ensure defects include environment and build details, reproducible steps, expected and actual results, evidence, and requirement or test links.
• Provide evidence-based release recommendations and communicate residual quality risks to management.
• Review and write automation code when required.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of QA or software testing experience in enterprise environments.
• At least 2 years of experience as a QA Lead, Test Lead, or senior QA professional with formal leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium automation; Playwright with TypeScript is strongly preferred.
• Strong experience analyzing BRDs and functional requirements, designing requirements traceability matrices, and managing test coverage.
• Strong API testing and SQL/database validation skills.
• Experience supervising testers, reviewing test artifacts, leading defect triage, and reporting quality status to management.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience validating data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Preferred experience designing Playwright and TypeScript frameworks or migrating from Selenium.
• Preferred experience creating reusable fixtures, Page Objects, API clients, test-data factories, and custom reporting.
• Preferred exposure to performance testing and coordinating specialized performance or security testing.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
