Job Description

Exoscale is hiring a Hardware Engineer to join its distributed, multicultural engineering team in Europe. The role focuses on developing and maintaining the internal Kubernetes developer platform, internal PaaS tooling, and managed service ecosystem.

The position involves platform development, automation, orchestration, application delivery pipelines, developer self-service systems, and the ongoing enhancement of SKS and its upcoming features. The role also contributes to the architecture, scalability, security, and availability of Exoscale’s platform systems.

• Design and maintain the internal Kubernetes developer platform.
• Develop tooling, automation, and orchestration for internal platforms.
• Develop and maintain SKS and future features.
• Improve developer experience through self-service systems and delivery pipelines.
• Contribute to platform architecture and system design.
• Improve processes for scalability, security, and high availability.
• Participate in code and change reviews.
• Support the resolution of escalated customer support issues.
• Participate in the on-call rotation after completing training.

Requirements

• Professional proficiency in Golang is mandatory.
• Experience with Linux and large-scale configuration management.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
• Passion for product design, software architecture, and automation.
• Ability to optimize workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, collaborative team.
• Curiosity, autonomy, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
• Familiarity with Clojure is an advantage.
