Disaster 501: What Happened to Man? (2012)

Colaborative project developed by Lars von Trier and Jenle Hallund as part of Copenhagen Art Festival. Artists around the world where challenged to create projects inspired by six different art pieces from modern culture. From 501 submissions, 130 were selected to be displayed side-by-side into four different screens as part of a video-installation.

This is the full video of my contribution to the Gesamt project - a Lars von Trier and Jenle Hallund movie. The video was inspired by the work of Belgian classical music composer César Franck and his piece “Sonata in A major for Violin and Piano: 1 Allegreto leg moderato”, from 1886. This videoart portrays a violinist trapped inside a confined space with nothing but a partiture from the aforementioned song; practicing his skills in the darkness without a violin.
