Project Description:
“Hills” is a spiritually charged, visually experimental music video that explores the internal climb we all face — the mental and emotional ascents that define our creative lives. Entirely driven by the question, “What does it take to keep going?”, the video weaves together surreal visuals, poetic lyricism, and bold stylistic contrasts. It serves as a meditation on persistence, identity, and the unseen forces that shape us.
As the lead visionary behind “Hills,” I wore multiple hats across the production process. From concept to final export, this was a wholly self-driven, independent project created using a hybrid of analog discipline and AI-powered creativity. My roles included:
Executive Producer – I oversaw every element of production, from budget allocation and team assembly to managing deadlines and deliverables. I sourced and hired collaborators personally, including sound and video editors.
Creative Director & Writer – I developed the narrative arc and visual symbolism, blending personal philosophy with experimental storytelling. The project was deeply inspired by films like Waking Life, and this influence guided the structure of the AI-assisted visuals.
Composer & Performer – I wrote and recorded the vocals and composed the instrumental from scratch, starting with rough guitar ideas and building out the arrangement. The track was produced entirely by me in Logic Pro.
AI Integration Lead – I used AI tools to prototype the visual landscape. I generated dreamlike scenes using custom prompts, tested visual references in Midjourney and Sora, and explored animation sequences to mimic inner states of mind. I also utilized ElevenLabs for voice-based prototyping and narrative support.
Sound Producer & A&R – I independently sourced the mixing and mastering engineers through my personal network, and managed the entire sonic post-production process to ensure the audio met industry-level quality.
Visual Consultant – I coordinated the visual palette of the video, inspired by lucid dreaming and philosophical imagery. My photography and sketches served as inputs for generating consistent AI animations, which were later composited into the final cut.
Strategic Distribution Partner – I led the release strategy, coordinating with Pier 5 and ADA for digital distribution, and secured its premiere on Warner Musica’s official channel. This involved all metadata, timing, and pitching the release across platforms.…Project Title: “Hills” – Rayko B
