I’m Rosalie Grubb (b. 2000, Charlotte, NC), a Venice Beach–based artist creating colorful, childlike worlds filled with whimsy, nostalgia, and imagination. My work is shaped by a life lived between cultures, from Chinese immersion classrooms in the American South to years studying and living in Shanghai.
I build playful, detailed visual worlds that blend personal storytelling with a psychedelic, joyful aesthetic, often featuring recurring characters like my cat Mooncake and my own imagined creatures. My practice is rooted in creating light and wonder, even when it comes from more complex or contrasting experiences.
My work has been exhibited in Venice, CA, and includes a 38-foot mural in Chapel Hill, NC, collaborations with Murphy Maude Interiors, and a public art project for Cool Globes. I’ve completed commissions for collectors around the world and received a Gold Key from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
