Hello, everyone! My name is Beatriz Silva, better known by my stage name Rosa Toebeans (or just Rosa to my close friends). I am an artist, animator, and part-time madwoman in this crazy world! My destiny? To change the world with my art, my passion, and my (albeit rusty) talent! My life has been ordinary, just like anyone else’s, but since that’s boring, let’s say that there’s always been one thing that set me apart from other kids—my ability to be really creative and very persistent.

PROJECT DEVELOPED IN AN ACADEMIC CONTEXT, DURING MULTIMEDIA DEGREE IN “ESMAD”
Developed with Photoshop (animation, backgrounds), Canon 3000 (photography, stop-motion), After Effects (animation, stop-motion, video editing), Premiere Pro (editing, composition) and Adobe Animate (animation).
“Mona Lisas” is a project that combines several animation techniques, where themes such as individuality, existentialism, memory preservation, and different personal perspectives are addressed under the pretence of the inevitable doom global warming will bring to the world, humans, and art. This animation recounts several interviews, in which the past, present, and future of the interviewees are represented from the artist’s authorial and biased perspective. Using anthropomorphism to depict the participants, “Mona Lisas” intends to serve as a collection of memories and a representation of several individual’s personalities, immortalizing them through art.
