His musical journey started with the trumpet where he was introduced to the world of jazz. As a young musician in high school he won the prestigious Sunfest Jazz Scholarship which was given to the best musician in the tri-county area. Roy went on to earn his degree in Music Production and Jazz Performance at The Florida State University. This combined with playing the piano and trumpet gave Roy a deep knowledge of the technicalities of music as well as a soulful touch to becoming the producer he is now. His first release was in 2019 where he dropped his first EP titled “One Life” with artist Serrick Lindo drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, from classic soul and rnb melodies to modern electronic dance sounds. Around 2021 Roy released a couple more records with artist Mike SB and Farah Bijou seamlessly blending the old with the new such as tracks “Purple Lights” and “High Right now”. The focal point of Roy’s production is the trumpet which is a very melodic instrument. Tracks such as “Unconditional” and “Treinta” (listed below) which are two totally different sounds really showcase Roy’s talent and advanced mastery of his instrument. In 2022 Roy was working at Underground Bakery in Broward County, Florida with the “Members Only” group such as artist Bass Santana and Flyboy Tarantino. Never being confined in one box Roy made a couple hit tracks such as “raww dog” with Bass Santana which shows he can do different genres from RnB to dark hitting 808 trap music. His career continued at Rebel 11 Studios where he then learned how to engineer on Pro Tools and learned how to work a patchbay. Learning the in’s and out’s of a professional studio was always a goal of his so that he can bring value to whatever session he walks into if it’s engineering, production or songwriting. After working at Rebel 11 and Criteria Hit Factory Studios for a combined year he is currently working at Rezort Miami Studios with grammy award winning producers illmind and Don Mills.
