It turns out dreams really do come true!
One morning, I received a request to retouch a still life (a shoot featuring Prada shoes and a cruel twist on lipstick). In addition to my standard services, I suggested some extra colour options and a trendy texture to the art director, Nicole. She appreciated my proactivity within the team, and I was given the opportunity to finalise the colour grading after two of my colleagues had done so the rest of photos. It turned out that the photos were taken by Marta Skvoro, one of the photographers who has been inspiring me for over a year!
I am thrilled by how seemingly different objects and models are brought together in a single editorial through shared accents in the form of pearls, red lipstick, the silvery sheen of metal and unruly feathers.
This collaboration has once again highlighted to me how important it is, when appropriate, to go beyond the brief and offer your own perspective and solutions.
