Hi! I’m Sarah, a freelance illustrator from Los Angeles, pursuing a BA at Lewis & Clark College (graduation date: May 2026). I work with graphite, colored pencil, ink, pastel, watercolor, collage, and digital media, and I'm always trying new materials. I am organized, punctual, and self-motivated. In the work I do for clients, I value open communication, flexibility, and care. Care is my biggest priority-- I put a lot of care into the things I create so I can make things both the client and I can feel proud of. I am excited to work with you!

paper Cover Art for YA Novel Ecofreak
In 2024, I designed and formatted the cover for the YA novel Ecofreak by Robin Arehart. The author had a clear vision for what she wanted the cover to look like, so I created thumbnail sketches based on her description. Once we were both satisfied with the sketches, I drew the cover art digitally using Krita. I made some minor adjustments at the request of the author and then formatted the front cover, back cover, and spine using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I also formatted the ebook cover. The book was then published on Amazon in 2024. illustrator coverart novel format digitalart
    paper Postcards from Breakfast

Postcards from Breakfast (2021) is a poetry book written by Sincerely Bluejay (also known as Madison Rene’) and illustrated by me. I designed the cover art and created illustrations to go alongside various poems throughout the book. The author wanted an eclectic feel to the book’s artwork, so I got the chance to experiment with a wide range of different media, including colored pencil, ink, pastel, watercolor, and collage. Rene’ and I maintained an open flow of communication throughout the project that allowed us both large amounts of creative freedom. I read the author’s poems and created thumbnail sketches for the ones with which I connected most. Then I showed Rene’ my sketches and she gave me feedback, which I used to make adjustments. Once we were both satisfied with the rough sketches, I created final versions, scanned them, and sent them to Rene’. The book was then published on Amazon in 2021.
