For the past 31 years, I've had a strong interest in music and musical instruments. I began playing keyboards at the age of 16, which led to me performing live in a number of bands. I have performed in front of a diverse audience at live venues ranging from small parties to outdoor festivals all over the world. I am a dedicated musician, but my ambition was to open my own recording studio. My enthusiasm and dedication led to my success as a music producer and studio engineer. As a music producer and recording, mixing, and mastering engineer with over 20 years of experience, I have a good understanding and the ability to operate complex and up-to-date electronic equipment to reproduce music, dialogue, sound effects, and a variety of other audio content to the highest quality. During this time, I have designed, built, and installed three recording studios, as well as numerous computer installations for my own studios and those of other musicians. Along with my basic knowledge of room acoustics, I sourced all craftsmen needed for the build, all building materials needed, and all studio equipment needed for the individual studios, managing the process from beginning to end. I am proficient in most current digital audio workstations (DAW) with a focus on Logic Pro X, as well as Celemony Melodyne, Native Instruments Software, Izotope Software, Fabfilter Software, Universal Audio Digital Signal Processing and more recently I have been experimenting with Artificial Intelligence related applications . Although my studio experience dates back to the days of analogue tape, my current hybrid setup allows me to incorporate both the digital and analogue domains into a single studio environment. Although I do not possess a teaching qualification, I have recently been employed by the University of Wolverhampton as a visiting lecturer for their BSc Audio Technology programme lecturing to Level 5 and Level 6 students and supervising dissertations to Level 6 students. I have also mentored and taught many young upcoming music producers and artists who have gone on to have successful musical careers during my time working in the recording studio. Teaching them DAW programming and basic studio engineering skills so they can operate their own home studio setups. They would then bring their musical creations to me, and I would work with them as a co-producer to complete their work for commercial release.
