Simon Jones

Simon Jones is a filmmaker, writer, and hybrid animator based in Liverpool, UK. He specialises in surreal comedy, sci-fi satire, and emotionally grounded storytelling, often combining live action, miniature sets, and 3D animation in hybrid productions.

Simon co-runs People Versus TV CIC, an artist-led production company focused on experimental, socially conscious cinema. He’s directed short films, produced XR game shows, edited music videos, and built interactive installations using Unreal Engine, Blender, and Unity.

With a background in sound design and a Master’s in Music Composition, his work often blends striking visuals with psychological realism and subversive humour. His latest script The Visionaries (co-written with Kaylee Nicholas) was a semi-finalist in the 2025 Outstanding Screenplays Competition and is shortlisted for the MiraBan Independent Film Fund.

He’s also an experienced editor and collaborator, having led visuals teams, coordinated large-scale live productions, and worked across disciplines from animation pipelines to community cinema. Whether crafting visual worlds or supporting other creators, Simon brings high creativity, rigour, and a punky DIY edge to every project.
