My name is Joshua Sohn. I am a Korean-American composer that loves to team up with great artists, film makers, and game developers to write music that elevates, engages, and inspires their story. Much of my musical background comes from drumming in rock bands, conducting youth band & orchestras, and as a former assistant to film composer, Christian Davis. My strengths are in electronic and orchestral music.
Since 2014, I have worked on over a dozen feature films and various other projects for TV, games, and musical theater (Different the Musical). I’ve had the pleasure to work with well-known brands including Lifetime (Devil On My Doorstep), Fox (Christmas with the Foxes), Ninja Kidz, Steinberg Media and the United States Air Force Reserve. My music in the documentary, “Rearranging Skin” by Salt Project helped to earn them a 2023 Emmy (New England).
In addition to composing, I also enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience through my Youtube channel, Sohn Compositions. You can find more info on IMDB as well as other links below.

A thriller starring Jenna Dewan that was broadcasted on Lifetime in 2023.
Winner of the 2023 New England Emmy in Science/Environment Category, “Rearranging Skin” tells the story of how Divya Anantharaman, a visionary, Brooklyn-based taxidermist and queer woman of color, is transforming a once bloody and violent practice into a beautiful, ecological, and humane work of art.
A “cabinet of curiosities” in its own right, “Rearranging Skin” is ultimately a call to action: to remake the world with creativity and care, righting the wrongs of the past one loving, skillful stitch at a time.

Show project
In collaboration with Salty Block Pictures, music score was composed by Joshua Sohn for the short documentary film, “DACA-mented: A Dreamer’s Story.” Centered around Yishay, a dreamer who came to the United States as a child, she urges the audience to reconsider the repeal of DACA and inform people of her story. The music required emotional underscoring throughout her monologue.
Composed musical score to the official 2018 Air Force Reserve PSA. In close collaboration with
Fast Forward Productions, LLC and the Air Force Reserve, there were two orchestral cues written and produced by Joshua Sohn. Music needed to be uplifting and inspirational to hit the emotional requirements of the message.
