“Secrets below the Mountain” draws you into the depths of a forgotten world buried beneath stone and time. As players descend through the cave entrance into a lost underground civilization, the track evokes the eerie stillness of ancient halls, the tension of lurking danger, and the remnants of a once-thriving realm now guarded by skeletal warriors, gnomes, and other twisted denizens. It sets the stage for mystery, strategy, and survival deep beneath the mountain.

I composed and produced the original soundtrack for the short film BALK, working closely with the directors from early development to the final release. The project included seven custom cues designed to support the film’s psychological and emotional narrative.
One of the main challenges was finding the right balance between tension, restraint, and character-driven emotion. Through multiple revision rounds, we refined tone, instrumentation, pacing, and dynamics, especially in key dramatic scenes. The musical direction evolved from darker, more ominous textures to a more grounded, guitar-driven and atmospheric sound that better reflected the protagonist’s internal struggle.
I managed the complete workflow: composition, arrangement, sound design elements, mixing, mastering, synchronization to picture, and delivery of final masters and alternate versions. When needed, I also prepared stems to provide flexibility for post-production.
Thanks to clear communication and a collaborative process, we achieved a final score that fully aligned with the directors’ vision. The film was completed and released successfully, and the client expressed strong satisfaction with both the creative result and the overall collaboration.
