I'm the Digital Lead at J&S Accessories Group, a UK-based motorcycle clothing and accessories retailer. I'm directly responsible for the development, maintenance and IT infrastructure of the company's digital properties. This includes all customer facing websites for J&S and subsidiary brands; Frank Thomas, BKS Clothing, Project MX and Hampton Springs but also in business support building internal tools such as our product/order management tool and our desktop/mobile touch-screen enabled warehouse fulfilment systems. I work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement digital marketing strategies to drive traffic. Taking a customer first approach in everything I do, I'm always looking for ways to improve the customer experience to naturally increase conversions for the business. My role touches all parts of the design/development cycle along with data and analytical management and of course digital marketing such as SEO, PPC, Social Media and Email/SMS. I'm equally comfortable at HQ in our office plugging away at maintaining our systems or on the road supporting the staff in our 30 stores and 2 warehouses across the UK. My retail journey started at 18 in Texaco petrol stations, working my way through multiple acquisitions with Somerfield and then Co-Op eventually leaving as a Trading Manager to work in digital marketing as Web Designer/Developer in my early 20s. I have now been working in digital for over 15 years, mostly as a web developer agency side with the last 5 spent in house on the eCommerce side completing the culmination of my learnings from both the retail and digital worlds. I now specialise and thoroughly enjoy managing teams that build bespoke, centralised, secure applications to specification. Applications that integrate seamlessly with the myriad of services required for a modern eCommerce business to run successfully.
