Concrete Music and the use of machines to create patterns through chaos.
To me, music in a film is more than emotional background. It’s part of the story, and it must not only embrace the tone and rhythm of the story, it must add a layer of details that tickle the spectators brain.
Orbiting around techno-existentialism, transhumanism and the limits of an artificial psiche, I took the decision to make the soundtrack using industrial machinery samples, abusing them through autogenerative synthesis, and adding radio telescope signals from, at least, two pulsars, a supernova and the Voyager 1.
This workflow took me to a state of flow where the tracks came alive and started modulating themselves. A perfect metaphor for a story where a superior artificial intelligence breaks reality .
REAL REVERB - 0 BULLS*IT
While studying Music Production, We were assigned with the task of recording a session with a real band.
I was obsessed with orchestral microphone techniques and their use capturing natural reverb. I convinced the priest of my hometown to let me record a rock band inside the towns church. The result: An open, wide sound and a lot of tracks which I used to recreate and tweak the original reverb of the place. https://www.twine.net/signin
