As a motion graphics designer and art director, I help companies and organisations connect with their audiences and grow their businesses. I collaborate directly with clients or in a supporting role for agencies and studios from around the world. Based in Redhill, Surrey, I work from my home studio (not just from the kitchen table) and am just a short 35-minute train ride from London for on-site work. With 20+ years of experience in design and advertising, I began my career in print and production after studying typographic design, working at agencies of all sizes. As the industry evolved and shifted toward digital design, I adapted my skills with a focus on motion graphics and never looked back – I absolutely love what I do! I’m skilled in Adobe After Effects and Maxon Cinema 4D with Redshift and X-Particles, along with extensive experience using the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with a number of high-profile brands, including Nike, Microsoft, MasterCard, Cisco, Vauxhall, EasyJet, Subway, and Xbox. uniE608 Ebitsu // The Future Of Prams
I had the privilege of being hired by start-up Ebitsu, to conceptualise and create a product video, along with a suite of ads for social media platforms. This project was particularly rewarding for me, as it allowed me to take control of both the creative and technical aspects. I was responsible for not only the design and direction but also the execution of all the 3D work and visual effects, resulting in a fully cohesive campaign. The challenge was to present this innovative tech product in a way that captured its advanced functionality while also communicating its sleek, premium design. To achieve this, I created a clean, futuristic environment that reflected the product’s cutting-edge nature. Every detail, from the lighting to the camera shots, was designed to draw attention to the pram’s unique features and highlight them in the best possible way. The pram itself has a range of advanced features that needed to be clearly showcased in the video. These include front and rear lights for enhanced visibility, intuitive button controls, and an adaptable seat that can incline, recline and be turned to accommodate both newborns and toddlers. Additional innovations include a rain screen, air filter, insulated seat, built-in thermometer, bluetooth audio integration, sunshade, and a long-lasting battery. My goal was to make sure that each of these features was not only visible but demonstrated in a way that would engage and appeal to the audience. Using the provided schematics and CAD files, I remodelled and optimised the assets to ensure they fit the overall aesthetic and narrative of the video. I took charge of all the lighting and texturing, aiming to bring a photorealistic quality to the animation and ensure the pram looked as tangible and premium as it would in real life. For the animation, I used Cinema 4D alongside Octane Renderer to create high-quality, realistic renders. To emphasise the product's features in action, I used X-Particles for effects like the rain and After Effects for final visual polishing and additional VFX. This blend of 3D , animation, and VFX gave the video a cinematic quality, while still maintaining the clean, futuristic tone that was essential for the brand’s identity. Ultimately, this project allowed me to combine creativity and technical skill, resulting in a final product I’m extremely proud of. The video not only highlights the pram’s innovative features but also helps to show a strong focus on cutting-edge design.
uniE608 Microsoft – Surface it for your business
I was tasked with introducing graphics to amplify the video's message around creativity. Using After Effects to rotoscope objects and people in different scenes, I introduced creative flow lines, which intertwined with their environments. The flow lines themselves were created using Red Giants Trapcode 3D Stroke and were enhanced with a number of different effects. video advert animator
    uniE608 Isometric Rooms
This is a personal project where I wanted to create a series of isometric 3D rooms, each with their own distinct environment. Everything was built and animated using Cinema 4D and then taken into After Effects for editing and additional treatments. video animator 3d animation
uniE608 OnStar Seasonal Animation – Winter
Working from rough storyboards, I had a lot of freedom to develop characters and styles for the animation. Based on similar watercolour styles used on static imagery for emails, I adapted the look and feel to work in an animated environment. The fast-moving textures and animated brush strokes made the whole animation feel like it was continually being painted as the story unfolded. Once finalised, I then adapted to five different European versions with their own titles and voice-overs in their respective languages. video explainervideo advert animator
    uniE608 Vauxhall – Mokka X Stadium Graphics
Vauxhall is one of the biggest sponsors of the England Football team and I was fortunate enough to be part of the team that developed a campaign for Vauxhall’s Mokka X. Working with an art director and copywriter, I developed an animated campaign that aimed at conveying the large size and rugged feel of the Mokka X. It features the use of bold typography to convey the perception of a large car. Since the campaign would run on large LED screens on the front of Wembley Stadium, there was considerable scope to show a range of motion in the animation. The bold typography was used to hit the screen with a thud, whilst animated dust and debris exploded behind the lettering. For the pitch side LED displays I had limited space, so the Mokka X could not be used in the same way. I used a slow vertical scroll to reveal the car and a tight crop which helped to convey the large size of the car within the displays limited height. The same bold typography from outside was repurposed to the different size. video advert animator
uniE608 Vauxhall OnStar – Road Trip
OnStar wanted to promote themselves with a series of videos highlighting the platforms key features. Rather than producing standard generic product videos, we used real life situations and added an element of humour by having them narrated by Dave Lamb, the narrator of the popular Channel 4 show 'Come Dine With Me'. I produced the user interface graphics for the OnStar mobile app visuals, to show how simple the service was to use. These were all created in After Effects and added a modern high tech feel. explainervideo video advert animator
