Make Something Awesome is an initiative I created as part of GeekGirlsMX, a community of women entrepreneurs passionate about technology. Over the years, this project has evolved thanks to the talent of those who have contributed to its growth and consolidation.
It’s a fully free, intensive mentorship day aimed at 10 projects led by women. The program is supported by generous mentors from Guadalajara’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, who share their time and expertise to help bring new ideas to life.
For this edition, I chose a vibrant design filled with rich textures and a contrasting color palette where yellow —Make Something Awesome’s signature color— takes center stage. I aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia and familiarity by featuring the faces of participants, mentors, and team members from past editions. The intense textures symbolize the richness of knowledge, energy, and inspiration that this experience brings.
The visual content was organized around three main pillars: memories from past events, practical tips, and mentor introductions —complemented by motivational phrases to encourage more women to apply. We understand it’s not easy to stand in front of professionals and share a personal project; that’s why every visual detail was designed to provide support and confidence.
These designs were part of GeekGirlsMX’s social media campaign to promote the call for applications and showcase the mentors involved.
During the event, I also captured video and photo content, aiming to reflect the excitement and “feeling” of the entrepreneurial atmosphere.
