With almost 30 years of professional performance experience in almost every medium - film, theatre, television, commercials, animation, podcast, video games, industrials, and many types of musical performance - I feel very lucky indeed. Personal favorites range from writing, directing, and starring in a show earlier this year at renowned New York musical venue 54 Below to the mom of a Tennessee race car driver in Rian Johnson's "Poker Face" series, to playing a dream role, Paulina in Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale", at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Though it's not denoted as such on my CV, I have plenty of experience working off teleprompters and self-recording; the former due to many years shooting industrial commercials, and the latter due to many years of that as an audition requirement. :-) While shooting an industrial for McKinsey & Company 2-3 years ago, I was asked spontaneously to record in a British accent for their UK clients after they heard me speak a few lines; this spring, I recorded a long pulmonology monologue for WebMD that I had never seen before within 3 takes. I even recorded an entire one-act play in my own home, using a teleprompter, as part of a benefit for the Berkshire Theatre Group during the pandemic lockdown in 2021. Most of the characters I've played have been highly articulate, intelligent, and authoritative - but I love the exceptions, like when I got to play that truck-driving mom from Tennessee, or a gossipy, pushy midwestern auntie in the Off-Broadway production of "IPA". I absolutely love using - and have plenty of experience with - dialects and accents, from London/Estuary and RP to Appalachian to Mandarin Chinese, Filipina and Indian. As you can probably tell, one of the many things I've loved and valued about my career is its wide variety. I look forward to being able to share any of this expertise and knowledge with you soon.
