Dear Hiring Team, I am writing to express my interest in the Vehicle Physics / Unreal Engine 5 Developer position for the Formula Circus project. I previously led the development of a commercial kart-racing game that operated for two years, where I was responsible for the full driving model, handling feel, stability logic, and long-term maintenance. This experience gave me practical, production-tested understanding of simcade-style vehicle handling, including: * Steering behaviour and input response * Tire friction and grip curves * Anti-flip and stabilization logic * Acceleration, deceleration, and speed curve design * Tuning for accessible, responsive driving feel I am also currently developing a new Unreal-based kart project, which includes support for a simple, customizable track structure (using a light voxel-inspired approach). This work further strengthens my experience with modular systems and runtime level logic. Additionally, I have ported my kart physics system to WASM and refactored parts of ODE (Open Dynamics Engine) during the process, giving me a solid understanding of rigid-body behaviour, constraint-driven systems, and joint-level control. This background allows me to quickly adapt to your R-Tune Physics System or to help build a modular vehicle physics framework within UE5. I have strong experience with Unreal Engine 5 C++, Blueprint, Chaos physics, and plugin-based workflows, along with a solid engineering background in building scalable, high-performance systems. Regarding availability: I am currently completing a master’s degree in New Zealand and will graduate before August next year. During the academic period, I can reliably provide 20 hours per week of remote work. If needed, I can increase this to 25 hours per week through a visa variation (approx. USD $200 fee). From mid-December to late January each year, I am available to work full-time. Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be very happy to contribute to the vehicle physics and system development of Formula Circus, and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss further. Kind regards, WeiChen Liu

Dear Hiring Team,

I am writing to express my interest in the Vehicle Physics / Unreal Engine 5 Developer position for the Formula Circus project.

I previously led the development of a commercial kart-racing game that operated for two years, where I was responsible for the full driving model, handling feel, stability logic, and long-term maintenance. This experience gave me practical, production-tested understanding of simcade-style vehicle handling, including:

  • Tuning for accessible, responsive driving feel

I am also currently developing a new Unreal-based kart project, which includes support for a simple, customizable track structure (using a light voxel-inspired approach).

I have strong experience with Unreal Engine 5 C++, Blueprint, Chaos physics, and plugin-based workflows, along with a solid engineering background in building scalable, high-performance systems.
