I’m Davide De Luca, a singer, musician, and songwriter from Lecce, Italy. I began studying singing and guitar at the age of 10, reached the finals of Grandi Festival Italiani in Santa Teresa di Gallura (Sardinia) in 2013 with my original song ‘Caro Nino’, and in September 2015 participated in the finals of Il Cantagiro in Guidonia with ‘15 anni’, winning the Little Tony Award.
Between 2018 and 2021 I studied Jazz Singing at the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoli, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Singing (110/110 cum laude). I then pursued a Master’s in Jazz Singing at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam from 2022 to 2024. In 2023 I released the single Amsterdam (produced by Filippo Bubbico) and formed my own band, performing at Dutch festivals such as Laren Jazz Festival, Pop & Jazz Hilversum, and Goois Jazz Festival. In 2024 I signed with MAKEATHOUSAND and released the Nu-Funk single Elettricità and the debut EP Crisalidi; I also joined the Conservatorium’s LA Experience (week of courses at the Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles and recording at EastWest Studios in Hollywood) and presented a research paper on Neapolitan Sound and the music of Pino Daniele at a Graz conference, with additional selection for a conference in Austria in 2024.
