I chose a pseudonym to give myself the opportunity to be recognized by a diverse audience. I am using Instagram as my primary social media platform and currently have four followers. I am confident that as I continue to develop my social media and blog, I will attract more followers.
The main page of my blog Is carefully designed with special attention to photos and branding. I have integrated the blog and social media channels seamlessly and added a brief bio to both platforms.
I have created a resources page on my blog to support aspiring writers by sharing valuable books. Both my blog and social media platforms are interconnected for easy access. I also feature a “Quote of the Week” page, showcasing quotes from notable authors in the writing field. In the future.
The blog features a mystic background for a uniform look, avoiding sporadic coloring. I selected an easy-to-read font and incorporated photos to break up the content and provide context.
I chose Instagram as my social media platform because many authors and writing hosts are active on it, with 58% of the marketing leverage being on Instagram. Although Facebook has a higher percentage, I plan to expand to multiple platforms as my brand grows (Tuten, pg. 241). The statistics were compelling, so I will be adding more photos and “How-To” content to my Instagram. I aim to maintain consistency between the blog and Instagram to avoid confusion. The content photo on my social media landing page will be updated to reflect any changes, and I will learn more about using hashtags in the future. My Instagram is live, and both platforms are linked for seamless navigation. Additionally, I have introduced a “Coming Soon” section on the blog to indicate that the site is actively being developed.
The purpose of my writer’s platform is to gain recognition and assist other aspiring writers. As a fantasy romance paranormal writer, similar to Patricia Briggs and Laurel K. Hamilton, I am inspired by their approach to engaging with their audience. Hamilton, for instance, posts daily about her personal life or shares a meaningful quote.
My choice of colors and images reflects my brand’s celebration of writing and the writing industry. I ensured the font remains simple and legible, avoiding cursive or clashing colors. My target audience spans ages 18-34 and 60+, so I aimed for a design that is visually pleasing and easy to navigate. Recognizing that many readers prefer audiobooks and eBooks, I plan to publish on Amazon when ready and market them on both platforms.
