Urândia Aragão is a Portuguese researcher and maker. She graduated in Design & Graphic Technologies from ESAD of Caldas da Rainha in 2001 and in Multimedia Interface Design from the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona in 2005. From 2006/12, she trained in Dance and Theater Research at eira33, Real-Time Composition at Re.al, and concluded PEPCC - Advanced Research and Choreographic Creation Program at Forum Dança/Lisbon. In 2016, she expanded her expertise in Nature Studies. She attended the Agroforestry, Permaculture Design, and Eco-Construction courses at Aldeia do Vale from 2022 to 2024. Her research gathers the disciplines of art, design, and permaculture. She is deeply curious about the connections between human ecology, nature principles, and magical thinking. Through her work, she aims to uncover new insights into our relationship with the natural world and how we can harness its power to improve our lives. Urândia has been involved in both solo and collective projects since 2005. She has collaborated with Casa Árvore, Aldeia do Vale, Aterra, Good Mood (Boom Festival, Being Gathering, Boomland), FCT/UNL, ALKantara, thestudio, cloud9, and BBDO. She worked as a coordinator of BWARE, a collaboration between ALKantara and António Arroio School. Additionally, she has provided training in pedagogical approaches to Portuguese schools and associations. In 2016, she moderated the AWARE-Artists, Watch, Reflect, and Exchange Program at the ALKantara Festival. Additionally, she was an invited artist in the 1space Project (Kvs, Exodus, and ALKantara 2015/17).
