I’m Joana Barbosa, a Communication Designer and Marketer with a background in Illustration (BA Hons, Middlesex University of London) and a Postgraduate degree in Digital Marketing (IPAM Porto). My career has combined creativity with strategy, allowing me to design strong visual identities while also managing digital communication and marketing initiatives. Most recently, I’ve been working with Galdi Jiu-Jitsu Academy, where I manage design and digital marketing. During my time there, I helped increase engagement by 4x and boosted student enrollment significantly — from only 5 new members at the beginning of the school year to over 30 this year. These results reflect my ability to create content that connects with people and drives measurable growth. What makes me stand out is the mix of my artistic background and marketing expertise: I can bring creative ideas to life visually, but also ensure they are aligned with strategy and data-driven goals.
