Studying art in Santiago, Chile, gave me the opportunity to explore various aspects of self expression. Painting, drawing, sculpture, history, photography, photolithography, video and digital art were incredible tools to do so. But I felt like l needed more. A year before graduating I decided to immerse myself in the digital world and took a full year course in Maya FX at the Mac Academy. There I learned all about animation but also gave me the chance to sharpen my skills in Photoshop and Illustrator. By the end of 2009 I received my Masters in Fine Arts, from Universidad del Desarrollo and a Advanced Certificate in Maya FX, from Mac Academy. Now I needed to test my knowledge in the real world. I started working at Arbol Color, a creative and advertisement company, as a creative assistant taking care of events and their production, dealing with clients and presentations. Working very closely with the design team I saw the infinite possibilities of their craft and began to spend more and more time with them. I made great friends and absorbed all I could. Then it was clear to me that design was next on my list. So I came to New York to study graphic design at The New School, Parsons. Being in a different country with no family was a real challenge but that pushed me to do my best and to finally become a graphic designer. After graduating I began my search for internships and jobs. Attending the Parsons job/internship fair discovered OWEN NYC, and interned as a e-commerce retoucher. Also started working with Australian fashion designer Rachael Ruddick and started stepping into the fashion world. Also doing e-commerce plus web and print (posters, stationary, brochures, line sheets). At the Parsons job fair I also met the image editor of Etienne Aigner and began freelancing as a photo retoucher for their web imagery and e-commerce. I discovered my passion for Photoshop and jumped right into it. I have been lucky to have worked with great designers and companies during these 10 years in New York. Photo retouching is my passion and as such I will continue to learn and expand. I put love and dedication into my work.
