Hi my name is Chantal. I've been an artist / illustrator, graphic designer and now clothing designer for nearly 30 years. I've worked in many different industries including graphic design, photography, magazines and newspapers amongst others areas. I currently work as a part-time teacher in which I teach art and other subjects such as languages, a variety of secondary academies. However I love nothing more than to sit and draw and paint and think about what I can learn what I can draw and how I can push my own boundaries to be so much better. I've done a lot of freelance work over the years anything from order of service booklets to where I am today which is, building my own business to sell my very colorful illustrations. I'm an extremely organised person and have 110% enthusiasm for drawing, artwork and especially painting. All of my illustrations are well researched, prepared and created by hand with acrylic pens. I have a particular style which is very unique. I use bright neon type colors on black backgrounds. The theme of my work is colours in the dark. My main theme is surrealism in terms of content. However I have a tendancy to illustrate with a realistic, 3D style with contrasted light and dark tones. I have a delicate style, in which most of my paintings are near, blended and drawn with lines. I am currently designing my own website for my business in which I not only paint and produce collections of paintings to sell. The 1st of which has 18 large pieces. The second will be out at the start of October this year. I have also started a small product line of accessories and clothing, in which I brand and print my illustrations onto. I love any idea and I find researching it also a fun part to the process. I have a thirst for knowledge so I am always keen to see what I can find , what I can learn, what I can draw and if I can't draw it, Ill learn it. I'm very determined and I enjoy the whole process and the journey from concepts to finish piece. It's always a pleasant surprise as to how I can start off with one idea in mind and it can just develop and changes for the better. Researchers incredibly important in any creative process. Alongside my bright coloured on black style, I always revert to painting surreal images with meaning and a root cause. Most of which are large up to 30 inches wide I would be very interested to gain a project where my style is appreciated and used in the best manner for it to shine. I'm also keen be in ttf company of creative people with vision and similar interests as thus itself sparks creativity.
