I'm a seasoned software architect and entrepreneur. I’ve had the chance to work on both the business side (startup founder with $1M in seed funding, director of product and innovation) and the technical side (software architect, engineer, teacher, speaker). This mix gives me multiple perspectives and the ability to put value delivery in front of technical challenge resolution. I excel at treading uncharted territory (R&D, patent applications, UX) and my focus is on the interaction between end users and the tools we spend so much time building. I’m hyper focused on efficiency, clean and expandable software and data architecture, and ultimately simplicity. Put bluntly, simple and clean is cheaper, more efficient, easier to maintain and scale. I thrive on creating solutions from which you cannot remove anything, yet every module remains crucial and efficient. Three decades is a long career, and in the last 10 years I’ve worked on numerous R&D projects. My favorite achievement was building an ORM that accelerated development speed tenfold, organizing data for compelling analytics dashboards, and integrating systems to work together. I started programming by reading books at around 16 in 1995—C++, then Java, PHP, ActionScript, Android + iOS, C#, and back to Java. HTML/JS/CSS has always been part of my toolkit. I enjoy writing tutorials; many are PHP + ActionScript 3 pieces no longer available. I’ve led more than sixty tutorials. I’m looking for a challenging, engaging work environment with a fun team. I prefer remote work because I travel when I can. I hope to have a chance to talk and see if we’re a fit. I’ve implemented passwordless logins (passkeys) and OAuth 2 for both provider and client.
